Trustee

John A. Logan, BFA

John Allen Logan is a serial entrepreneur and 25 year financial services veteran whose career spans business, technology, publishing, and the arts. He has owned or co-founded bars and nightclubs, a magazine and an insurance company. He has held C-level positions in a Fortune 100 company and in a tech startup that he helped grow from $1 million to $42 million in revenue in 2 years, gathering 52 of the Fortune 100 as clients. In 1996, John was honored with the Hammer Award by Vice President Al Gore for his innovative contribution to a federal government initiative.

A trained portrait painter and graduate of the Cleveland Institute of Art, John often used the Logan coat of arms as his signature on paintings and drawings well before he knew the significance and meaning behind it. But John has never confined himself to a single creative discipline. He is also a two-time Amazon bestselling author — most recently of The Millennial Money Tree (3rd edition, 2025), a widely read guide to financial independence — and a poet whose collection Words of Love also reached the top of the charts in 2022. He is currently completing OVERMIND, a “what if?” speculative fiction thriller about artificial intelligence that early beta readers have called “powerful and terrifying” and “impossible to put down.”

John had long been curious about his ancestry, knowing that both great grandparents had emigrated from Ireland in the early 1800s. He was told that’s where the family name came from until the introduction of Ancestry.com in the mid 1990s. The Logan history being filled with political, literary and social influencers, heroes and ne’er-do-wells continues to be a source of fascination and excitement with every new discovery of distant cousins and ancestors uncovered by members of Clan Logan Society International.

John brings to his trustee role the same breadth of experience that has defined his career: a rigorous understanding of financial systems, a track record of building and leading organizations, and a deep commitment to purpose-driven work. He divides his time currently between his ongoing work in financial education, a business venture in the UAE, and authorship. He is guided by a simple philosophy: ‘Fail’ is an acronym for First Attempt In Learning.
